If you're thinking about adopting a furry friend to help you get through the cold winter, remember our seniors - sweet, warm and cuddly - they'll give you plenty of love to help you get through the cold and dark of winter!
Another year is coming to a close soon, and while we at PMFAS are busy with the ongoing tasks of feeding, cleaning and caring for some sixty or seventy furry friends who at any given time reside at the shelter, we also recognize that once again we’ve had much for which to be thankful throughout 2015.
We acknowledge all our friends and supporters, from our Keepers of the Kennels and Keepers of the Kitties, as well as individual volunteers and families to local businesses and towns. Whether your support comes in the form of time, work, kind words or donations of many kinds, we definitely appreciate it all!
A big Thank You to the talented and generous folks at Northeast Kingdom Online (www.northeastkingdomonline.com) for their timely and detailed attention to our website. They work quietly and graciously behind the scenes making prompt and creative changes to the site.
The Memphremagog Art Center (MAC) on Main St., Newport, VT is holding an event on Friday, June 5 at 6:30 PM. Part of the event includes a reading and signing by Author Catherine Holm from the book she has written with other writers, Rescued: The Stories of 12 Cats, Through Their Eyes.
During the month of June, our shelter will receive a small donation from the sale of the book, Rescued. The book is available at MAC and is also available on Amazon. Remember, when ordering from Amazon, use the site Amazonsmile.com, and select Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Shelter as the non-profit of your choice!
While any donations received from the sale of this book might be small, using Amazonsmile helps a bit more. And for all our furry friends at the shelter, every little bit adds up and helps pay for food, supplies, and medical expenses. Thanks in advance for supporting Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Shelter!
Tips for a Happy, Healthy and Safe Holiday Season for Our 4- Legged Family Members
Everyone at Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Shelter wants the holidays to be a happy time for you and your pet, and not a time for an emergency visit to your veterinarian. The food and decorations that make the holidays so much fun for us can sometimes be hazardous for our pets. We want you to be aware of some of these hazards so that you can plan accordingly and prevent any potential problems. When in doubt, common sense is always a good strategy!
Sincere Thank You to All July 12th Volunteers!
A big THANK YOU also to the organizations that partnered together to support this event – Greater Good Organization and Pedigree Dog Food for their Shelter Renovation Project Grant and Animal Lifeline which provided three builders who drove here from other states to lead the projects.
THANK YOU to you all!
